The City Council requested the extension of a gully and creating a new channel for rainwater collection (03/11/2009)

To prevent flooding that may occur in the municipality of Torre Pacheco in the future, the City Council has asked the Segura basin conducting the necessary studies to carry out an extension of the Rambla de Santa Cruz and the creation of a new channel to collect all the water come to Torre-Pacheco for the north.

This would intercept the different channels from the area Roldan road heading towards the road to El Jimenado, uniting them in a large group of storm that would lead initially to the Santa Cruz boardwalk.

and later to the boardwalk The Albujón.

On the other hand, there is a project to interconnect the drainage channel surrounding Torre-Pacheco at junction north when it reaches the intersection with Highway F-28 (road to La Puebla).

At this point there are plans to open a new channel for the waters to continue to the boardwalk The Albujón, so we would have two ways for the passage of water.

This will avoid possible flooding.

The Confederation also being developed and works under urgently on the channels of the Albujón Rambla and Rambla de Santa Cruz by flooding last September.

The arrangement of the first boardwalk has a cost of € 400,000 and € 350,000 the second.

Also, the Confederation is undertaking the refurbishment of the channel between San Cayetano and the Tajo-Segura.
