A total of 870 members of the Association of pensioners and retirees Virgen del Rosario de Torre Pacheco participated this week in a day of living which was chaired by the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, and the mayor of the municipality, Daniel Garcia.
The Director General of the Instituto Murciano Senior Social Action (IMAS), Enrique Pérez, also participated in this event which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the presidency in this Association by Antonio Alcaraz, and Pedro Martinez as treasurer .
The Minister emphasized the status "active" of the 3,200 members who are in the five associations of pensioners and retirees of Torre Pacheco and congratulated daily users who are involved in the operation of the same "to encourage and promote healthy aging" .
The Association of pensioners and retirees Virgen del Rosario was founded in 1980 with the aim of creating a space where over Torre Pacheco could live together, sharing moments of leisure and exchange experiences.
At present, this association has 1,870 members and members of which 17 are part of the Board.
Periodically, your users can enjoy activities film, theater, dance, competitions, between generations and gymnastics, among many others.
Palacios said the "large share" of users of this Association in the activities and the "significant increase" of 60 percent, which has seen the number of partners over the last ten years.
He also made reference to his "principle of solidarity," as they often collaborate with organizations like the Red Cross and Caritas.
