The Field School has provided over the years a unique opportunity for the international youth and collaborators, enthusiastic in finding the roots of Neanderthals in the contexts of scientific practice in the Sima de las Palomas del Cabezo Gordo , important site Neanderthal (Homo neanderthalensis) and Paleolithic Mousterian industry of approximately 50,000 years ago.
This Field is prominent on the map of human evolution in Europe.
Each year, Field School outstanding professors and researchers collaborate internationally and have passed through its classrooms students and graduates from all over the country and several EU member states, as well as the U.S., Australia ... etc..
The campaign, which began today, will last until August 13, will be directed by professor Michael J.
Walker.
In addition, there will be a press conference on August 9 in the hall of the City of Torre Pacheco to explain the findings in this campaign.
And also hold an open day on 11 August, the day on which the pit will be open all morning, until noon.
