The Civil Guard dismantles a criminal group dedicated to theft in houses (23/02/2018)

They used the same modus operandi to assault the buildings by fracturing the bowls of the locks

One of those arrested has been remanded in custody

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in the framework of the operation 'REPLICANTES', has arrested three young members of a criminal group, settled in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, dedicated to theft with force in homes.

They are allegedly responsible for the crimes of burglary (4) and property damage (12).

Agents specializing in prevention of citizen security initiated the investigation, framed in the 'Plan against theft in homes', with the aim of identifying, locating and arresting the perpetrators of several robberies with force in housing in the municipality of Torre Pacheco.

Some facts that had generated some social alarm.

The first investigations allowed to verify that the modus operandi used to access the buildings presented a common pattern that made us suspect that at least two people, with some experience in the criminal field, were behind the authorship of the robberies.

The Civil Guard established numerous police devices aimed at the prevention of citizen security, as well as investigative tasks for the identification and arrest of the perpetrators of the robberies.

These tasks allowed to verify that the suspects acted in a coordinated way with the objective of choosing the dwellings, mainly those that lacked alarm type security measures;

monitor their residents, to prevent them from being inside the homes, and control the area, to materialize the robberies when there were no witnesses.

In broad daylight taking advantage of the owners' working hours

The Benemérita obtained indications of the criminal scenes where the locks of the access doors appeared forced with certain skill.

Some of these real estate houses located in central streets of the municipality were not subject to theft, although they presented in their locks an identical pattern in their handling that, supposedly, would not culminate with the access to the property due to some inconvenience that has occurred.

The robberies were committed in working days while the residents were in their workday or away from home.

For this, they did not hesitate to walk through the municipality while knocking on the doors of the houses to check that they were empty.

The Civil Guard focused the investigation on several young people, neighbors of the municipality and with numerous criminal antecedents, what allowed to find out that they formed a criminal group, presumably dedicated to the robbery with force in houses.

Once the necessary information has been gathered, the Civil Guard has arrested three young people of 20 years of nationality, Moroccan and Spanish, and residents of Torre Pacheco as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force in housing (04) and damage to property. (12)

The REPLICANTES operation has culminated with the dismantling of a criminal group, based in Torre Pacheco, experienced in house robbery.

Those arrested and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction of San Javier (Murcia).

One of those arrested has been remanded in custody.
