Civil Protection of Torre Pacheco imparts first aid training to students of the Gerardo Molina Institute (19/02/2018)

A total of 90 students have attended the Training Talks in First Aid that have been developed in the Integral Safety Center of Torre Pacheco

Acting quickly in any place where events occur where you need to provide first aid is paramount, in many cases maintains and saves lives while we wait for specialized help.

The formative talks were coordinated by Antonio Jesús Sanmartín and taught by José Andrés Barea instructor of Basic Life Support (SVB), both belonging to the Group of Volunteers of Civil Protection of the City of Torre-Pacheco, have been responsible for carrying out this training in the Integral Security Center, to the students of the IES Gerardo Molina.

The main objective of these formative talks in First Aid is to provide middle school students in Administrative Management, Commercial Activities, Automatic Electrical Installations and higher level in Administration and Finance, the most elementary knowledge to be able to offer effective help to people who they are in an emergency situation, either by accident or illness, to be able to face those decisive first minutes with maximum safety.

The participants acquire knowledge in:

- PAS Behavior (Protect, Alert and Help).

In short, established guidelines that must be followed, always in that order when we find ourselves in an emergency situation with one or more injured people who need specialized healthcare.

- Basic CPR.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or basic CPR is a first aid technique that can help keep someone alive in case of an accident long enough for emergency help to arrive.

- How to act before a choking, burns, wounds, are some of the acquired knowledge, and of course, the importance of 112, since it is the most immediate assistance possible to the demands of citizens.

The Councilor for Public Safety Juan Salvador Sanchez said that "it is essential that young people acquire basic knowledge in first aid, to respond and provide coverage in emergency situations, act quickly with basic knowledge can save lives," he said. grateful the work done from Civil Protection in the field of training.
