This year, the Campaign on the occasion of World Cancer Day aims to give voice to patients and their families, make visible the hidden problems of the disease, as well as support prevention and research.
The City Council of Torre-Pacheco joins this global campaign with various actions;
this Sunday, launches a campaign on social networks, coloring the building of the City Council and the Performing Arts Center, green, the color of the Association.
The AECC during these days carries out various activities to publicize the accompaniment services to patients and relatives, as well as a complete program of activities.
The Local Board of Torre-Pacheco collaborates one more year with this campaign.
On February 4, 2000 was established as World Cancer Day, with the aim of raising awareness and mobilizing society to advance in the prevention and control of this disease.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Spain.
One in three men and one in four women will be diagnosed with cancer throughout their lives;
and approximately 40% of cancers could be prevented.
