Month of the Short Film "Trasnochando" in Torre-Pacheco (27/06/2017)

In the morning of today, the Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León, accompanied by the councilman of Culture, Raúl Lledó, have presented "Trasnochando", Festival Itinerante, to be held on Thursday in July in Torre-Pacheco.

"With this new initiative, promoted by CortoEspaña and the Department of Culture, seeks to bring the culture closer to the neighbors, a street activity for the whole family on summer nights, a project to bring the format of the short to the Locality, "said Leon.

The best shorts can be seen in the Short Film Month of Torre-Pacheco, to be held on 6, 13, 20 and 27 July in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento at 10:00 pm with free admission.

On July 11 children's short films are screened and on July 12 at the Pines Park in Dolores de Pacheco, a selection of the best shorts of CortoEspaña will be screened.

Lledó highlighted the commitment of this City Hall by the local artists, pointing out the participation of Carlos Balleteros, a neighbor of Dolores de Pacheco, who will project his short "Operation No. 13", on 12 July in Dolores, out of competition.

The 28 short films to be screened were selected by a committee of professionals from the sector, including several Goyas awards, out of a total of 921 works submitted to the competition.

During the projections will be put gender and thematic works varied, from drama to comedy through the documentary and more dynamic and innovative works.

The length of the films will also be diverse, combining stories of a certain plot development with shorter stories of just a few minutes that perform a surprising synthesis exercise.

Among the selected works we can find young promises that are still almost unknown to the general public, but also names with a widely recognized track record such as Javier Gutiérrez, Carlos Areces, Mabel Rivera, Luis Callejo, Macarena Gómez, Maggie Civantos, Miki Esparbé, Marta Hazas , Ramón Ibarra, Ingrid Rubio, Fernando Albizu, Ruth Diaz, Luis Bermejo, Ana Rayo, Hugo Silva ... The short film thus becomes an own format that claims itself, and which go great artists already consolidated to create Narrations that other formats, such as the feature film, do not allow them.

The audience will be the protagonist in determining what the winning work of the festival, since it will be the same viewers who choose, through ballot papers, which short film deserves to be awarded the first prize.

In addition, these votes will be taken into account by CortoEspaña so that, together with the votes of the other localities that visit the Festival Itinerant, decide which are the favorite short of the public of the whole year, with the following economic endowments: 1º prize, 2,000 Euros, 2nd prize, 1,000 euros, 3rd prize, 500 euros and 4th prize, 250 euros.

This initiative intends to involve attendees beyond mere viewing and involve them in an active and critical assessment of what is seen on the screen.

The event is part of the CortoEspaña Itinerant Festival, an initiative to promote the short format that in 2017 will tour numerous Spanish locations throughout the year hosting in its projections approximately 25,000 spectators.

CortoEspaña aims to be not only a new and extensive exhibition circuit, but a place where the short has the information space and journalistic coverage that claims.

In this sense plays a key role internet, the social networks of CortoEspaña on Facebook and Twitter and the website www.cortoespana.es open to anyone close or interested in the world of the short.
