The Councilor for Youth of the Torre Pacheco City Council Verónica Martínez together with the counselor of the Local Employment Center for young people María Eugenia García participated in the Coordination Commission between the Autonomous Community and the City Councils.
The ordinary online session held on November 25, was chaired by the Minister of Youth María Cristina Sánchez, and had the participation of councilors and youth technicians from the City Councils of the Region.This Commission is the advisory body that serves as a forum for meeting, debate, coordination and collaboration in matters of youth and is regulated by Law 6/2007 of April 4 on Youth in the Region of Murcia.Both the counselor and the General Director of Youth indicated the importance and need for the coordination and communication of activities between Town Halls and the General Directorate of Youth, organizations that share the purpose, objectives and recipients of their actions.
This is the first meeting that has been held since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and in it he became aware of the actions that are being carried out by the General Directorate of Youth during this year.As it is already at the end of the year, a forecast of the actions planned for 2021 has been advanced, especially those related to the situation derived from Covid 19.Among the programs that will continue and be strengthened in 2021 are services related to information, guidance and accompaniment to the young population in matters of employment, co-financed by the European Social Fund and which have been provided by the Local Employment Center.At the last point on the agenda, the commission, at the proposal of the Ministry of Tourism, Youth and Sports, agreed to approve the creation of a specific technical working group on Youth and Covid-19, composed of councilors and technicians from the youth area , as well as the creation of other commissions.The General Director of Youth confirmed that the protocol established in the "Document for the Reactivation of Leisure and Free Time Activities" and its Annexes is still in force, as a block of measures and recommendations to be taken into account in the activities carried out from the field of youth in the Region of Murcia, and which was presented last June.For her part, the Councilor for Youth valued the importance of coordination between the different administrations to join forces, especially at this time that it is necessary to adapt the programs to the current situation, also highlighted the sharing of programs and projects between the different municipalities in youth matters, to share and coordinate experiences.
