MC: "The discrimination of San Esteban to the Region is also reflected in Torre-Pacheco" (01/07/2020)

| "Between 2008 and 2015 it received 60 million less than the regional average" | José López: "The mistreatment of the regional government is based on numbers and statistics and not on independence delusions"MC has continued its round of contacts with the mayors of the Comarca del Campo de Cartagena, with a working meeting that took place yesterday between the Cartagena councilors, José López, Jesús Giménez and María José Soler; and the mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the City Council of Torre-Pacheco and during it, Pablo Pérez, graduated in Business Administration and Management from the UPCT, described the report made by the Municipal Group MC on the spending allocated to the Pacheco municipality in the regional budgets during the 2008-2015 period, this being the last year in which the autonomous government included in its accounts the detail of territorialized spending. The analysis of territorialized spending is an instrument that allows a homogeneous analysis of the distribution of regional budgets, since it is possible to verify the expenses of the regional administration in each municipality, allowing comparisons to be made between them. The data confirms the tendency of the systematic discrimination of the regional government to the municipalities of the region, since to the data already known in La Unión and Cartagena, today are added those of Torre-Pacheco, a municipality that also suffers from the centralist policies marked from San Stephen. Specifically, territorialized spending in Torre-Pacheco is clearly below the average in the Autonomous Community.

Thus, the expenditure per inhabitant in this town in the Campo de Cartagena ranges from 49 to 254 euros in the 2008-2015 period, while the regional average ranges from 260 (minimum figure) to 510 euros and in the municipality of Murcia from 394 to 745 euros.

In other words, Torre-Pacheco never reaches the regional average during all the years under study. In a global way, between 2008 and 2015, the expenditure per inhabitant destined for Torre-Pacheco by the Government of San Esteban is 59,923,797 euros less than the regional average, while in the comparison with the city of Murcia the difference negative exceeds 100 million euros (€ 106,193,559). López: "We must work together, we are stronger together" At the end of the meeting, the Cartagena spokesman, José López, pointed out that "the data from Torre-Pacheco confirm once again what we have been denouncing for so long: the mistreatment of the regional government is supported by the numbers and statistics , and it is not based on the independence delusions launched by the counselor Revenga to offend our land.

" "The discrimination against Torre-Pacheco is as evident as it is insulting.

During 2008 and 2015, it received almost 60 million euros less than the regional average and more than 100 million less than the city of Murcia.

That is our reality, also for the pachequeros.

, suffer the effects of living in the Autonomous Community of the city of Murcia.

Meanwhile, the surveys and the reality of the street show that the majority sentiment of the citizens of the Region who ask for a more just and equitable administrative model is already unstoppable " . "A centralism that hinders the progress of Torre-Pacheco and the rest of the region, which also endangers the future of IFEPA as a generator of wealth in this municipality, something we must fight against by making a common front because, as we said after visiting to the mayor of La Unión, together we are stronger.

The studies we carried out during the Cartagena biennium on the benefits of combining services, regionalization and joint work, show us that, without a doubt, this is the way forward ", concluded José López. During the next weeks, MC will hold new meetings with mayors of the Comarca del Campo de Cartagena to transfer the analysis of the treatment received by their municipalities in the regional budgets.
