The Department of Social Services and Immigration addresses from multiple dimensions the attention to childhood and adolescence, being a fundamental pillar for this the adequate coverage of Leisure and Free Time.As a way to ensure the respect and guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents in this area, in February the Family Program began the launch of the 2020 Children's and Youth Leisure Project "Building Our Future." This initiative has focused its fundamental line of work on expanding socio-educational possibilities with families, providing, at the community level, educational channels focused on leisure and free time, as well as the possibilities of reconciliation with minors during non-school hours.For this, a structure of activities has been planned focused on favoring spaces for personal promotion and development of social skills, promoting participation at the community level from a cultural and recreational perspective, as well as generating a work space where personal autonomy is favored of the minor, encouraging, at group level, cultural diversity as an enriching element.In mid-March, due to the health alert, it was necessary to readjust the contents and work from a telematic methodological perspective, a process that allowed meeting the educational, educational and recreational needs of the participating minors. María José López, councilor of Social Services, has highlighted the good degree of involvement shown that has allowed the proper progression of the Project, and has taken the opportunity to thank the children and families who with their interest and enthusiasm have given meaning to the work carried out .From the Department of Social Services and Immigration, a kit of school supplies and a diploma have been delivered to all participating minors, so that they continue with the same desire to learn, despite the difficult stage we are in.
