The councilor for Sports, Oscar Montoya, has announced the non-opening of the municipal swimming pools, a very thoughtful decision as a consequence of the Covid-19 health crisis, a decision made mainly due to not being able to guarantee the health of users due to the restrictions of capacity, limited to 30%, and above all as Montoya has indicated, "due to the complexity of being able to comply with the established security and disinfection measures", pointing out that the virus continues and in this sense has underlined how complicated it is to disinfect the floor every time you enter and leave the pool, as well as cleaning and disinfecting common areas, especially changing rooms and toilets after each use, or keeping the safety distance,as well as the great cost of swimming classes for the City Council with the participation of only one student per street.Oscar Montoya has expressed the responsibility of the council to preserve the health of our neighbors and above all the intention to avoid risks, "a difficult decision in which the importance of the health of our neighbors has prevailed, and not being able to provide a quality".Thus, he pointed out that the cost foreseen for the Summer Campaign 2020 of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, will be destined to the social and economic reactivation of our municipality, thanking once again the citizens for their responsibility and understanding in this situation.
