in a high accident rate section limited to 50 km / h. This is a new driver who is allegedly responsible for the crime against road safety The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in one of the speed inspection devices developed in coordination with the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Murcia, established on the RM-F36 road (Torre Pacheco-Cartagena), has identified and investigated the driver of a tourism that circulated at more than 80 km / h of the maximum speed allowed, in a section of high accident rate with a vertical signal indicating speed. The action was carried out when agents from the Cartagena Traffic Detachment who were carrying out a specific speed control at kilometer 8,100 of the conventional highway RM-F36 (Torre Pacheco-Cartagena), detected the movement of a vehicle, at 137 km / h, in a section limited to 50 km / h, thereby exceeding the maximum speed allowed by 87 km / h. At first, it could not be stopped or identified, so the work aimed at its location began, which occurred two hours later.

The driver, a 19-year-old male, had recently obtained his Class B driving license. The young man was investigated as an alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety and, together with the proceedings investigated, he was placed at the disposal of Investigating Court number 5 in Cartagena, for the celebration of the corresponding quick trial. This crime is included in article 379 of the Penal Code and can be alternatively punished with prison terms of 3 to 6 months, a fine of 6 to 12 months, or work for the benefit of the community from 31 to 90 days and, in any case, with deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period of more than 1 to 4 years. The establishment of speed controls by the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard is framed within the objectives of the Road Safety Strategy adopted by the DGT for the decade 2011-2020, as one of the priorities aimed at reducing accidents on our roads, especially on conventional or secondary roads. In this sense, the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard of Murcia recalls that, without prejudice to the systematic and permanent performance of controls on vehicle movements to verify compliance with the limitations established in the current state of alarm, it continues to develop its specific activity of surveillance of road safety 24 hours a day.
