| Torre Pacheco recycled 29.3% more packaging waste in 2019 than in 2018 | Torre Pacheco separated to recycle 1,510,310 kg of packaging waste during 2019, compared to 1,167,478 kg in 2018.
This represents 29.3% more waste that can be used as secondary raw materials.Torre Pacheco increases its commitment to recycling and the circular economy with an increase of 29.2% more waste from briks, cans and plastic containers deposited in the yellow container, compared to 2018.The increase in recycled cardboard paper waste exceeds it, reaching 71.6% more of this waste in the blue container.
For its part, each resident of Torre Pacheco deposited 9.7% more glass packaging waste in the 228 igloo-type containers, distributed by the municipality.These data, provided by ECOEMBES and ECOVIDRIO show us that, during 2019, each Pachequero has collaborated with the recycling of 16.31 kg of brick waste, cans and plastic containers, 12.07 kg of cardboard paper waste and 13, 6 kg of glass packaging waste.The use of the materials from which the waste is made, thanks to its deposit in the recycling containers, contributes directly to saving raw materials, reducing water and energy consumption and favors the creation of new jobs based on in the circular economy.Mari Carmen Guillén, First Deputy Mayor, stated that the City Council continues to bet on recycling and the importance of selective collection.
Our neighbors, argues the mayor, have shown that they maintain a commitment to the environment and recycling, which is evident with current good data.
For all this, the City Council has wanted to convey to the public its thanks and congratulations for the attitude in the selection and deposit of waste, which they carry out every day, encouraging the population to continue with these actions, remembering that the commitment of recycling is everyone's responsibility.
