From last December to March, the Community ARGOS Program is taking place in the municipality.
It is an educational project for the prevention of problems related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and cannabis, aimed at the adolescent population.
The program involves the collaboration and coordinated work of health centers, secondary schools and the Department of Social Services of the City of Torre Pacheco.
Based on the planning carried out by the Department of Social Services, students approach the health center, where they visit a poster exhibition and receive training directly by health professionals.
The rest of the training takes place in educational centers.
The objective of these actions is to raise awareness of the risks associated with drug use, such as driving vehicles, teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, effects on the organism especially of women, as well as identifying situations of pressure from group in relation to the consumption of these substances.
