The City of Torre Pacheco, presented last Saturday the new Web Portal of the Municipal Archive, an event that was attended by the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, Carlos López, Councilor for Communication, as well as members of the Municipal Corporation and authorities local and regional, such as Pedro Jiménez, former mayor of Torre Pacheco and the regional deputy, Mª Dolores Valcárcel.
A live portal, which brings digitalized documentary funds closer to all citizens, a very rich fund and not only in the archives' own documents, but also in personal funds, thanks to the collaboration of neighbors who have provided documents and photographs of great relevance in the municipality of Torre Pacheco.
In addition, and after 10 years the rich sound background of Radio Torre Pacheco can be heard through the Web Portal of the Municipal Archive.
A documentary fund that does not stop growing thanks to the collaboration of the residents of the municipality, who have given family photographs and old documents related to the municipality, and that is only a small sample of the material that has the Municipal Archive.
In the Web Portal you will be able to know the history of our municipality, reading the Chapter Acts, make our family tree, diving in the patterns of inhabitants and neighborhood lists, see how our closest past was through old photographs, read publications and historical articles, and also listen to Radio Torre Pacheco's recordings, programs and voices from over thirty years ago to the present day.
Give the Municipal Archive, residents are encouraged to visit the portal, participate, share and collaborate with the archive with the transfer of photographs and interesting documents for the history of our municipality.
An initiative to help preserve our history to make it available to everyone.
