The Marist College of Alicante was crowned as the winning team of the I Debate Tournament International College Lope de Vega de Benidorm and CCE Virgen del Pasico as a finalist.
This edition has been celebrated on November 15 and 16 and has had the participation of twelve teams from different places of the peninsula.
Aimed at students between 3rd ESO and 2nd Baccalaureate, it has been possible thanks to the City of Benidorm, Chocolates Valor and AEFA.
Two teams from the CCE Virgen del Pasico Debate Classroom participated in the Region of Murcia, one being classified in the semifinals and the other in the final.
In this last phase, the teams had an exciting debate on "if the effects of Brexit will be favorable for the United Kingdom".
Lucía Guillén, José María Fructuoso and Eduardo Gómez were proclaimed finalist team of the tournament.
The academic debate format has a structure of four, five, five and three minutes in each of its sections: Introduction, argumentation, refutation and conclusion.
Second final in two weeks
The team of the Debate Classroom of Virgen del Pasico was also a finalist in the 1st edition of the Debate Tournament of the College of Economists of Murcia last week.
In addition, the student Pablo Almagro, a member of the Virgen del Pasico Debate Classroom, proclaimed himself the best speaker of the III CMU Hernando Colón Tournament at the end of October and his team was a semifinalist.
Undoubtedly, a winners fruit of the enormous effort of these young people.
