The training provided to the professionals of the CAVIs of Torre Pacheco, Fuente Álamo and Cartagena, has been aimed at improving care for women and girls with disabilities, who are also victims of gender violence.
The training has been given by a Social Educator of the General Directorate of Women and Equal Opportunities, a gender specialist with experience in third sector entities, from where people with disabilities are cared for.
The Councilor for Equality, Verónica Martínez Marín, highlighted the importance of incorporating the gender perspective in the field of "persons with disabilities" and of increasing the tools to develop preventive interventions in situations of gender violence and disability.
This day is part of the projects and actions against gender violence, which are carried out by the Department of Equality of the City of Torre Pacheco.
