The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the President of the Association, Francisco Soto, have signed an agreement whereby they commit to collaborate in the promotion of activities with adults in the town.
The purpose of the agreement is the granting of a subsidy for its program of activities.
As for the financial contribution amounts to â‚¬ 9,500.-.
In addition to this economic subsidy, from the Department of Social Services, it collaborates with the Association through the organization of cultural and recreational activities, sports, health, and above all with the management, information and advice on issues of interest to greater.
The Pensioners Association was created in 1980, and currently has about 1,200 members and a large and varied program of activities throughout the year, in addition to having facilities appropriate to their needs.
The Mayor, accompanied by the Councilor for Equality and Seniors, Verónica Martínez, after signing the agreement, have held a meeting with the board of the Pensioners Club, to learn first-hand their needs and demands.
