The Councilor for Employment and Training, Verónica Martínez Marín, has welcomed the people participating in this course, mostly unemployed, encouraging them to take advantage of this training action that prepares food handlers in hygiene matters according to their work activity, guaranteeing the safety and health of food products in all phases after primary production, including preparation, handling and supply.

It has been proven that health education in food hygiene provided to food handlers is one of the most effective measures in the prevention of foodborne illness.

In rural areas there are micro-enterprises, freelancers, workers and job seekers in the agri-food sector that have no possibility to carry out this training and it is to these groups that, as a priority, this training action is addressed, the last of the three that integrate a program taught during the month of July, including others also related to the agricultural sector: SAFE HANDLING OF LIFT TRUCKS and HANDLING OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES
