Diego Conesa and Pedro Saura clothe Carlos López in his presentation as a mayoral candidate (04/02/2019)

More than 250 people attended the presentation of the Socialist candidate to the Mayor, Carlos López, who was accompanied by the Government Delegate and Socialist candidate for the Presidency of the Region of Murcia, Diego Conesa, the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Pedro Saura, the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and Inma Sánchez, Mayor of Santomera.

The event, which took place in the Air Show of the Performing Arts Center, was focused on the presentation of the Socialist candidate to the Mayor's Office, Carlos López.

Diego Conesa highlighted "the great value of Carlos, both professionally and personally, and his ability to continue leading the alternative of progress in Torre Pacheco."

He also highlighted his "capacity for dialogue" and "the great progress achieved as head of the Treasury Department of the City Council", which has seen its debt reduced by more than 30 million in the last three years.

Conesa also pointed out "the commitment of the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia with IFEPA, which has to be the only regional fair of our community, against the duplicity of investments to which the PP has accustomed us, which has already done so with the airport, and now intends to build a new fairground in Corvera. "

Conesa also referred to the abuse that the PP has done with the Campo de Cartagena in regard to investments and in particular with Torre Pacheco.

The former mayor of Alhama de Murcia, said that "when he is president of the Region of Murcia, will make an investment plan to improve the roads of Torre Pacheco, abandoned by the Regional Government for 20 years."

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure, and neighbor of Torre Pacheco, Pedro Saura, made an emotional review of the commitment of Carlos López with Torre Pacheco, who said that "despite having a future projection, he loves his people so much that He has given up working for his neighbors. "

Saura also noted that "the commitment of the Government of Spain is with Torre Pacheco, as is already seen in the actions we carry out from the Ministry of Development, and will be reinforced with Carlos as Mayor."

Lopez, meanwhile, had words of thanks for the guests and attendees, and made a brief review of his life and highlighted as a personal achievement, but "also democratic", that a child of single mother, worker, and born in the Park of the Constitution, may be within a few months Mayor of Torre Pacheco.

"Democracy equals us all, but the Welfare State, education, public health, the public pension system, is what makes it possible for our dreams and aspirations to be fulfilled."

The socialist candidate reviewed the achievements made by the Government Team during this term, such as the reduction of debt by 30 million euros, the increase in social spending by 66%, the stoppage of evictions, the fight against energy poverty, the approach of the City Council to the districts through the OMITAs, or the agreement with the Local Police that has increased the presence of agents in the municipality.

"During these three and a half years we have achieved many things," said Lopez, "we have taken Torre Pacheco out of bankruptcy and the abyss, we have reconciled the City Council with its citizens."

In May we decided something very important, we decided if we go back, to waste, to debt, to pharaonic works, to the fourth floor, to cronyism, or if we look forward to build a better future for pachequeros and pachequeras ".

Lopez pointed out that the electoral program will be carried out openly, consulting neighbors and groups, and that it will have three fundamental axes: first, a firm commitment to public services, including the debate on the direct management of services and essential supplies, such as water;

a second block on economy, since he pointed out that stability and certainties are key for Torre Pacheco to continue leading the growth of employment in our Region, and another on citizenship and sustainability, where the city model we want for the next ones is discussed years, where he also pointed out that the development of EDUSI will be key.

Finally, Lopez made an appeal to "defend the joy", in front of those who want to go back, inviting "all the progressives of Torre Pacheco to join the PSOE project," he said "will put people in the center of municipal policy. "

Carlos López (Torre Pacheco, 1988) is 30 years old and has a degree in Political Science and Administration from the University of Murcia.

Since 2015 he is a Councilor in the City Council of Torre Pacheco, where he has been in charge of the Finance and Communication area since November of that year.
