The arrested, four Dutch citizens, are attributed the alleged responsibility for the crimes of cultivation, processing and trafficking of drugs, fraud of electrical fluid, attack on agents of the authority and membership of a criminal organization

In the register practiced in two industrial buildings, 2,260 plants of cannabis sativa have been seized in an advanced state of growth and sophisticated tools for indoor cultivation.

The electrical installation of the ships had been fraudulently connected after digging more than two meters to reach the general network

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the operation 'NORTEL', has dismantled an active criminal group of international scope dedicated to the intensive cultivation of marijuana, whose four members have been arrested as presumed authors of the crimes of cultivation, drug processing and trafficking, electric power fraud, attacks against agents of the authority and belonging to a criminal organization.

In two warehouses in the industrial estate of Balsicas-Torre Pacheco, two sophisticated marijuana greenhouses have been dismantled, one of which has seized 2,260 cannabis sativa plants in an advanced state of growth and numerous tools for indoor cultivation.

The investigation began last May, when specialists in the Judicial Police of Torre Pacheco detected the presence of a group of people around an industrial warehouse, located in the polygon of Balsicas-Torre Pacheco where, despite not carrying out work some, they went in and out daily.

The Civil Guard found out that, in addition, the property maintained a high consumption of electricity supply which made us suspect the possible existence of hidden marijuana greenhouses, for which numerous surveillance devices were established.

Recently, these police devices were positive when the agents observed how an individual, who usually frequented the ship, approached by vehicle to the premises, at which point, when surprised by the police presence, he fled precipitately towards the highway.

The suspect drove in a manifestly reckless manner until he left the vehicle, without signaling, in one of the lanes of the aforementioned highway and fled on foot while being followed by the agents, who offered serious resistance until he was arrested .

In the interior of the ship were located three other people who, together with the first detainee, were arrested as alleged authors of the crimes of cultivation, processing and trafficking of drugs, defraudation of electricity, attacks on agents of authority and belonging a criminal organization

The Civil Guard requested from the judicial authority the corresponding entry and registration orders that were carried out last week.

The examination of the buildings resulted in the confiscation, in one of the premises, of 2,260 plants of cannabis sativa in an advanced stage of growth and flowering, as well as abundant electronic, phytosanitary and electrical material destined for the intensive cultivation of marijuana.

In the second ship, numerous electrical and electronic devices were seized, similar to those of the first enclave, a sophisticated logistics destined, supposedly, to the establishment of another clandestine greenhouse.

Experts in the cultivation of marijuana

The research developed has concluded that it is a criminal organization professionalized in the construction and maintenance of sophisticated greenhouses of marijuana.

In order to carry it out they had a high purchasing power that allowed them to invest close to one million euros in enabling, within their own warehouses, ample spaces destined for the interior cultivation of the plants.

The first part of the ship was diaphanous, although, through different interior corridors, it was accessed to the rooms where the plantations were perfectly organized, fed by the channeling of phytosanitary products and supplied with light with numerous high-power bulbs. .

To prevent the emanation of the characteristic smell of marijuana had installed extractors and condensers of industrial air conditioning.

The complex installation worked uninterruptedly and had extreme security measures, such as video surveillance cameras connected via Wi-Fi.

In addition, they had established in their interior a small 'domiciles' enabled with kitchen, toilet and laundry area that allowed them to stay and spend the night.

International criminal organization

According to the investigation, the criminal organization now dismantled acquired, in different European countries, the necessary materials to build and supply the greenhouses (spotlights, radiators, fertilizers, etc.), all with the supposed intention of avoiding their connection, in Spain, with the purchase of products destined to the investigated criminal activity.

The value of the seized material would be around one million euros and the plants, in an advanced stage of growth and flowering, would have reached, on the black market, a value of over one and a half million euros.

The Civil Guard has found that one of the ships had been illegally connected to the electricity grid, for which they had excavated two and a half meters deep to reach the general supply.

The consumption of electricity defrauded would be around 200,000 euros.

The operation 'NORTEL' has culminated with the dismantling of an active criminal group of international scope, dedicated to the intensive cultivation of marijuana, whose four members have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of cultivation, processing and trafficking of drugs, defraudation of fluid electric, attack to agents of the authority and belonging to criminal organization.

In two warehouses in the industrial estate of Balsicas-Torre Pacheco two sophisticated marijuana greenhouses have been dismantled, where 2,260 sativa cannabis plants have been apprehended in an advanced stage of growth and flowering, as well as numerous electrical and electronic equipment, fertilizers and machinery for the indoor cultivation of plants.

The arrested men, of Dutch nationality and aged between 28 and 55 years, the drug and the effects intervened, as well as the educated diligences have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 5 of San Javier (Murcia), who has ordered the entry into prison without bail of the four detainees.
