The Mayor of Torre Pacheco Antonio León has had a meeting with Juan José Pérez, president of the Company Committee in the Region of Murcia of Renfe Operadora, the chairman of the ADIF Committee José Miguel Celda and the Secretary of the Company Committee of Renfe Francisco Martí, also they have been present the councilman of Urbanism, Alberto Galindo and the councilor of Local Development, Rosalía Rosique.
Juan José Pérez reported that they are making a tour through the different municipalities of the Region of Murcia to explain the situation in which the railways that support it are located, pointing out that in the Murcia Region the railway is forgotten by Renfe and by the Ministry de Fomento, informing of the bad situation in which the trains are, since these machines are old, they consume and contaminate a lot since they are diesel and their materials are extremely worn out among other deficiencies.
For this reason, from the Company Committee ADIF-RENFE Region of Mucia, they demand that the railway lines of the Region be electrified, thus replacing the diesel trains with modern machinery, new electric and suburban trains that are already running throughout Spain.
On the other hand Antonio Leon thanked this visit and highlighted the public service work of Renfe, also took the opportunity to remember that this line operates in the municipality since 1863 and since then has not undergone any changes, so the councilor of Urbanism recently filed a motion a Full claiming ADIF the improvement of said station.
León recalled that this station is in very poor condition, only remains open for a certain time, lacks lighting and has a lot of weeds in its surroundings, all pointed, generates a very bad image that requires urgent attention.
