This is a posthumous recognition for his long career as a municipal official in the municipality of Torre Pacheco and his outstanding professional and personal contribution to the social and economic life of the municipality.

Nicolas Gomez Campillo, a resident of Torre-Pacheco, born in France but was descended from a family originally from the village of Santa Rosalia, where he lived since age 10, after the return of their parents immigration.
Person who throughout his life was distinguished not only by a demanding performance of their duties, but also for its ability to help all pachequeros.
Visibly moved, the family appreciated the recognition.
The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, thanked the family of Nicholas all that he had done for the town and showed his pride as mayor and as pachequero be able to do acts like this in honor and in memory of pachequeros that have shaped this town.
The square is located right next to the house of Nicholas.
The mayor said that this garden is that Nicholas would have liked his name because he saw from his window every morning.
On April 23, 2009 the City Plenum approved, among other things, the motion on the name of a garden dedicated to Don Nicolas Gomez Campillo.
