The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning in the coming weeks will yield four new eco-parks in the municipalities of Cartagena, Lorquí, Mazarrón and Torre Pacheco.

The total investment for the construction of these eco-parks, which will be managed by municipalities, is more than 720,000 euros, 80 percent financed with the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the rest of the region.
Benito Mercader said that "with the assignment of these four new ecoparks we fixed the 28 collection points in the Region and 14 phones.
But this vast network of collection centers for recycling and recovery of special municipal waste, ie that have no place in traditional containers, will be expanded this year with other guns.

The disposal of municipal parks is part of the project 'Public infrastructure for development of regional planning for waste in the Region of Murcia, Phase II 2007-2013', which is running the Department of Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning Funded EU Cohesion and the Autonomous Community.
Its objectives are to develop regional planning in terms of waste infrastructure complement present in the region, improving per capita ratios of containers and collection centers deploying mobile and fixed, optimize systems for urban waste collection in municipalities; to give effect to the greatest degree of differentiation of the waste generated by municipalities, and facilitate recycling and recovery of selected fractions that otherwise would have to end up in landfill.
Torre Pacheco Ecopark
The eco-park built in the municipality of Torre Pacheco is associated with these objectives, and is part of the Network of Regional Ecoparks as installation of waste collection that have no place in conventional containers.
In the deposition phase in separate fractions of materials, case of collection of these materials by an authorized agent and transport to a sorting plant, where they recycle and recover those that can be reused.
The operation concluded with the controlled landfill that are not profitable, thus reducing the volume of waste going to landfills and contributing to saving energy and raw materials.

The Murcia Region is integrated into the operational program, corresponding to the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning for the aid of 30 million euros, being the co-financing rate of 80 percent.
