This morning the students of 1st ESO have gone through the Health Center Torre-Pacheco to participate in the campaign "Alcohol: Awareness with science," which is an action more than an educational program for the prevention of problems related to alcoholic beverages, set in the ARGOS program of Community action in the collaborating health centers, the Secondary Schools and Municipal Drug Addiction Prevention Plan Torre-Pacheco.
Recipients are about 500 students of 1st of Secondary Education in the municipality of Torre-Pacheco, because the average age of first use of alcohol, at the regional level, occurs in around 13-14 years (AGES 2012), which justifies an educational intervention at the beginning of the ESO.
Within the campaign three teaching units are developed: The first teaching unit is carried out by the counselor / teacher in class, the second revolves around the visit of groups of students from 1st grade of a traveling exhibition of posters displayed in Health Centre of reference for each school, which come accompanied by the counselor / teacher and is developed by health professionals.
The third is developed back in class by teachers.
At the end of the three teaching units students can participate in the Contest "ALCOHOL AWARENESS WITH SCIENCE", where you choose a prize consisting of a technological product to a student from each of Secondary Education Center to participate by filling in a questionnaire accessed through the portal www.e-drogas.es, the Ministry of Health and Social Policy.
