Last weekend was held in Caceres Spain Championship Taekwondo Absolute where Murciana Selection 8 Taekwondo athletes participated, all of Koryo Club Torre-Pacheco, of which 4 of them got medals (one gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze).
Notably, these four athletes Torre-Pacheco are the only ones who are not developing the sport in the High Performance Centres, limited to train at his gym Koryo Club.
Gold was won by the athlete, already known internationally, María Isabel Sánchez de Roldán, in a final against the athlete Marta Balsicas Buendia (2 pachequeras in the final of the Olympic weight -49 kg).
This gold ranks Isabel directly to Senior European Championships, the results will be decisive for the next Olympic shortlist.
And this is a historic event because for the first time since the Taekwondo Federation of Murcia was founded in the 70s, where it gets a medal at senior level.
These are the first four medals at senior level that gets Murcia, and all athletes collected by Torre-Pacheco.
This made the Taekwondo Federation of Murcia (with 8 athletes, all of Torre-Pacheco), got 4th place in the female ranking.
The other medals were obtained by Sánchez Alejandro Ros (silver) and Carmen Pulido (Bronze)
Also, Rafael Alcázar Corona, Club Manager of Koryo and technical sports Hall of Torre-Pacheco, was awarded the bronze medal for sporting merit by the Sports Council.
He was also appointed to the Taekwondo Federation of Murcia as a top regional Federation during the past 2013 has sponsored the sport of Taekwondo.
