This morning was made at King's College Murcia CLEOPATRA innovative educational project for teaching foreign languages ​​in the Spanish students participating Vega Media center Alguazas, and English British center King's College Murcia.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid and the Councillor for Education of the town, Ana Martinez, and students from both schools, the director of King's College, Mr. Robin Silk, and teachers involved in the project that exposed the attendees.
CLEOPATRA, corresponding to the acronym for "Open Cultural Exchange Program and Assembly Language and Learning Resources" is a learning system based on second language immersion and direct contact between native students of both languages.
It has been designed taking into account innovative methodologies that have produced excellent results in other countries and considering the use of digital platforms, social networks and other new technologies of information and communication.
The project is structured in phases, in principle, over two courses.
In its first phase has been initiated contact through correspondence between the students, who were also able to communicate via video and using social networks like Facebook or Myspace.
The second part of the meeting has occurred in the person of the participants, who on Tuesday lived a day of living in which there was no shortage of trade activities in English and Spanish language face to face joint work in the language lab center , interview in English to students at the school in the workshop British radio, or hockey game, among others.
In the next phase, the British students host families during a weekend Spanish students and vice versa.
Thus the cultural and linguistic exchange will be much richer and efficient.
