Urban improvement programs and building sustainable cities arouse the interest of municipalities
The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Land and Housing, studied this week the focus of the new Municipal Housing Plan 2013-2016 recently approved by the Cabinet at a meeting with the City of Tower Pacheco.
At this meeting, the Director General of Planning and Housing, Yolanda Muñoz, explained in detail to the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García, the information regarding the different lines of rehabilitation aids containing the Housing Plan submitted by the Ministry of Development .
The CEO said, "This new plan aims to reach the most disadvantaged and rundown neighborhoods, with particular needs for improvement and conservation, for accessibility and energy efficiency."
The director said, because of its special interest to the municipalities of the Region of Murcia, "urban improvement programs, with a maximum allocation of 35 percent of the total budget of performances with at least one hundred homes."
In that program, the maximum grant is € 11,000 per house renovated, 30,000 if it were a home built and up to 2,000 euros per household for development works.
Programme to promote sustainable cities
The Programme for the promotion of sustainable cities that envisages the new State Housing Plan is one that has drawn attention to the city of Torre Pacheco.
So said Yolanda Munoz, who said their "strategic neighborhoods are improved, requiring a qualified treatment of public spaces and facilities, as well as the renovation of the old public areas."
In addition, this program also focuses to address substandard housing situations which by their nature and socioeconomic description can be fit into the neighborhood improvement projects.
