Agriculture, drug addiction and Neanderthals are the courses of the University of the Sea held in Torre-Pacheco (20/03/2013)

This morning we have presented the three courses of the Sea International University held this year in Torre-Pacheco.

The presentation was attended by the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, the Vice President of Strategic Development and Training, University of Murcia, Fernando Martín Rubio, director of the International University of Mar, Mari Carmen Martinez grace and Course directors:

Juan Manuel Ruiz Ros, Director General of Citizen and Drug Addiction, co-director of the course "Matrix Model. Intensive psychosocial treatment of addictions" Almela Luis Ruiz, director course "Mediterranean Agriculture in the New Millennium" and Michael John Walker, Course Director "Neanderthals at Sima de las Palomas. during the Pleistocene human evolution in Southeast".

It is the fourth time that the town of Torre Pacheco became the seat of the summer courses at the University of Murcia after the success of previous years.

This year was extended to three courses.

The courses are:

1.

"Mediterranean Agriculture in the New Millennium", to be held from 15 to 18 April in Torre-Pacheco CAES.

The objective of this course is to present a current overview of agriculture in the context of the Mediterranean coastal regions, analyzing the changes resulting from human performance in the territory.

So as to differentiate between the classic concept of Mediterranean Agriculture sufficiency based on the current model of market agriculture.

It also wants to describe the new technologies currently applied, or who have a promising outlook in the short term.

Especially that refers to the limitations or costs of production as well as marketing and promotional aspects.

Besides influencing the need to form multidisciplinary teams working in various fields of competence.

This course is run by Luis and Rafael Domingo Almela Miguel Ruiz.

"Neanderthalbes in the Sima de las Palomas.

Pleistocene human evolution in the southeast ", to be held from April 24 to May 1 in Torre-Pacheco CAES.

The course objective is to teach, disseminate and update the multidisciplinary aspects related Neanderthals and Human Evolution.

The course is led by Michael Walker and Mariano Lopez.

This course will include a free guided tour of the Sima de las Palomas April 29

3.

"Matrix Model, intensive psychosocial treatment of addictions," which will be held from 9 to 11 July.

The Universidad del Mar provides the opportunity to bring together university students, professionals and others interested in the prevention and treatment of drug addiction, to encourage the use of best practices and empirical models for the treatment of addictions through training.

The course is run by Ana Belen Villar, Juan Jimenez and Julián Oñate
