"Coca, what?", A project to deter the onset of cocaine use among young (29/11/2012)

"Coca what?" Is a proposal by the City of Torre-Pacheco, through IMSAS prepared to work with youth groups different aspects of cocaine consumption.

The program consists of an exhibition of 10 panels and an activity guide to complement the exhibition visit.

This project is aimed at young people aged 16 who are exposed to the risk of initiating cocaine use or have tried the drug.

During the month of December we will work with the students of the School and Workshop CECOCRE during the month of January will be exhibiting at the City Library for the visit various secondary schools.

Visiting the exhibition is accompanied by three complementary activities ("I want", "I really do not", "What I do is not up to you") lasting 60 minutes each, which will be held in different days.

The activities will start in preventing cocaine.

Cocaine is the second substance currently illegal trade, after cannabis, more widespread among adolescents and young of our country.

More than 200,000 students between 14 and 18 have tried cocaine in Spain.

The average age of first use stands at 15.8 years.

The prevalence of use increased with age, as both recent use throughout life.

The factors influencing the increase in drug use in general and cocaine in particular adolescents, are multiple and complex.

The lack of adequate information, the ease of acquiring cocaine and decreased perception of risk associated with consumption, are among some of the factors identified.
