The Socialist Party claims that "regional budgets harshly punish the Campo de Cartagena and Mar Menor" (09/11/2012)

The PSOE de Torre Pacheco claims that regional budgets for 2013 left the town in a state of total paralysis and urge the government team to claim Valcárcel more spending and investment in the town.

Pachequeros Socialists claim that the Community has since 2008 reduced the budget allocation to the municipality, which this year amounts to € 1,638,381, 0.43% of total regional budget.

This represents a reduction of 58% from the budget of 2012, and places Torre Pacheco in the second lowest per capita spending in the region, ahead of the town of Pliego.

Most of the investment will go to the maintenance of schools and IMSAS day stays and the remaining € 600,000, are intended to Citizen Security Plan that, despite the security problems suffered by the municipality, has been reduced starting up 28% over the previous year.

The Secretary General of the PSOE in Torre Pacheco, Juan Salvador Sánchez, has highlighted the "spending huge differences between municipalities."

According to Sanchez, "only 6 municipalities are above the regional average. This is perfectly understandable for Lorca, but not in that of Murcia, which takes about half of the regional budget."

Saura Sanchez also expressed his surprise at the fact that municipalities with a population similar to that of Torre Pacheco, as Totana, San Javier, Yecla, Mazarron, Aguilas Cieza or "double or even multiply by three investment per capita in respect to our town. "

The Socialist Municipal spokesperson, Fernando Vera, has denounced the "intolerable punishment" that, in his opinion, suffers the Campo de Cartagena and Mar Menor, with an average expenditure per capita of € 139.11 compared to 260, € 40 to the regional average.

Vera stated that "in the region, the worst is taken, by far, the municipality of La Union, € 52.34, and Torre Pacheco, with € 49.32 in spending per capita respectively."

According to Fernando Vera, "Valcarcel government attacks especially to municipalities that are facing the worst crisis, turning the tap on investment and job creation and condemning citizens to unemployment and exclusion."

Vera has also invited the Municipal Corporation to "demand now Rajoy Valcárcel and with the same vehemence with which demanded the Zapatero government."

The spokesman said that the next full interpelará the Mayor to explain "why Torre Pacheco denies Valcárcel so if you give other municipalities in the Region of Murcia."
