They finish the Holidays Trinity Barbary 2012 (04/06/2012)

Since a few years ago they began to be held the Party-Trinity Barbary, the enthusiasm aroused among the inhabitants of Torre Pacheco has not decreased one iota.

Quite the contrary, each year this celebration is enriched with news full of surprises.

The celebrations began on Friday with the opening of the medieval market.

This was followed by a parade and after the market opened with musicians, stilt walkers and actors.

In addition, on Friday we enjoyed a spectacular representation of the Trinity-Berber act.

Brothers, orphans, venteras, soldiers, peasants and pirates participated in the event of something more than a 1 hour recreating the inauguration of the City Council but by Pacheco.

In total more than 500 residents divided into two camps: the Trinity and the Berber.

In Saturday's big parade was held on Trinity-Berber, where residents were back on the streets of the town, this time to parade wearing his costume.

The parade took about four hundred people and 10 marching bands, horses and houris included.

The Trinity-Berber parties were born in 1996 at the initiative of José Miguel Rodríguez, a historian and researcher of the town of Torre Pacheco.

Acts recall the dreaded Barbary raids raiding the coasts of the Mar Menor and the Campo de Cartagena during the XV, XVI and XVII and hindered the settlement of this area.

These attacks resulted in the need to raise watchtowers that could serve as a refuge, one in Torre-Pacheco.

These parties, meeting and 16, are a benchmark for our people.

We knew of the existence of the Trinity in our village monks (from 1620 until the first third of the nineteenth century), the date on which the confiscation was the largest farm away this religious order (dedicated to the redemption of captives) had the Kingdom of Murcia, which became extension of 356 hectares and was located in Torre Pacheco.

These monks lived in a house called "The Monastic" and was attached to the old parish church, also had seven other houses here, one of which was to be an inn, and sale to be Torre Pacheco a crossroads.

We also knew of the raids, or rides, featuring the Barbary pirates, who settled in North Africa landed on our shores of the Mar Menor, Cartagena roamed the field to get captivated by those who later would ask a good rescue .

Thus was created a business that would last several centuries, making cities like Algiers or Tangier, authentic capitals of commerce people.

Attacks by the Barbary hindered and delayed the doubling of these fields, making necessary the construction of towers next to the farms or Strong House of the few families whose incomes were allowed the removal of these buildings defensive, one of these houses was the Tower Pero Pacheco.

The Manor was the only Hoyamorena as all (royal grant) existed around the Campo de Cartagena, and an inventory of 1623 we know that the farm had:

"A main house with its tower and church, an orchard and a .... zena, 80 tahullas vineyard, a wine cellar containing 500 pounds of jars and 100 arrobas in boots.

The farmers live in eight houses scattered, it is true, old and battered.

The land is primarily devoted to the cultivation of cereal .... and to work them staff have six pairs of oxen and a wagon with two mules. "

We join these two because historical data and thus were created in Torre-Pacheco early historical parties in the area of Cartagena.
