15 people participate in the formative action FRUIT AND VEGETABLES MANIPULATOR during the days 27 and 28 March, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a duration of 10 hours, subsidized by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, together with the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The course given by FECOAM (Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia), and organized in collaboration with the Department of Employment and Local Development of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, takes place in the Casa de la Radio of Torre Pacheco.
The Councilor for Local Development, Rosalía Rosique has welcomed the 15 people, who are taking this course, mostly unemployed, encouraging them to take advantage of this training that enables the performance of jobs related to the agricultural sector, and in particular those that require the manipulation of fruits and vegetables.
The objective of the course is to develop the processes of manipulation of edible fruits and vegetables, using the most appropriate techniques in order to optimize the processes of transport, reception, handling, storage, packaging, conditioning and conservation of the productions, from the field to its putting in the market.
The only requirement to access this course is to be linked to the agricultural sector, or to express interest in joining it (for example, by submitting a job application).
This training action is the first of a program to be developed in Torre Pacheco during 2018, which will include two other training actions also related to the agricultural sector: SAFE HANDLING OF FORKLIFT TRUCKS and QUALITY COORDINATOR, ENVIRONMENT AND PREVENTION IN FOOD COMPANIES, with a duration of 10 and 200 hours, respectively, Rosique commented.
