On Saturday, November 25, the Plenary Session of the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents was held in the Plenary Hall of the City Council, whose purpose is to facilitate citizen participation of the children of the municipality and to be a channel of communication through which they express their needs and opinions.
The Council is a consultative body that is a participation tool for children and young people residing in our municipality to express their demands, proposals and opinions regarding various issues and areas that affect their daily lives, such as education, culture, sports, the environment, and citizen security, among others.
The Council is chaired by the Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León, acting as secretary a technician of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, Pedro César Hernández, and the counselors are students of 5th and 6th of Primary Education and 1st and 2nd of ESO of all the Educational Centers of the Municipality.
Currently, the counselors are: Sandra López García, Gloria Cegarra Manzanares, Ana Martínez Sánchez, Daniela Soto Egea, Carmen Mª Pérez Mateo, Paula López Sánchez, José Martínez Martínez, Marcos Saura Morales, Ikhlas Abdessamie, Clara Luján Rosique, Rocío García Armero, Salvador López Martínez, Samuel Conesa García, Yassine Lagsouri, Héctor Jorquera Gómez, Miriam López Madrid, Francisco Javier Sánchez Carrillo, García Roca, Antonio Henares López, Ainhoa ​​Meroño Martínez, Ángela Lozano del Amor, Susana Pardo Ibáñez, Pedro Torres García, Alejandro Cegarra García, Francisco Javier Martínez García, Gael Pérez Bineau, Marina Florea Tintas and Mª del Pilar Soria Barbero.
In the Council, the student of the CEIP Garre Alpañez de Balsicas, José Martínez Martínez was elected as President and the student of the CPEI BAS Ntra. Mrs. de los Dolores, Paula López Sánchez as Vice-president.
The councils of New Technologies and urbanism took to the Plenary of the Council the answers to the proposals and demands raised in the previous Plenary around these areas.
The central theme of the Council was the Promotion of Health, with the following proposals approved:
First, organizing more activities that avoid sedentary lifestyle and encourage physical exercise and active life habits;
Second, Improvement of facilities and urban furniture that encourage physical activity and sports, such as parks with gym equipment, soccer fields, skate tracks and access to existing ones;
Third, Organization of activities related to food and healthy living habits;
Fourth, Start-up of school gardens with the participation and maintenance of specialized personnel of the City Council;
Fifth, Improvement of health services and equipment;
Sixth, Creation of real bike lanes;
Seventh, Training and equipment in first aid in the school for teachers and students of 5th and 6th grade of Primary;
Eighth, Creation, by the City Council, of healthy environments by planting more vegetation without using chemical products and contaminants;
Ninth, Creation of one (or several) citizen patrols of information and surveillance, responsible for informing citizens and monitoring public spaces in order to promote and promote street cleaning throughout the municipality;
Tenth, Greater control in the sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors;
Eleventh, Improvement of equipment inside and outside the school: more sources and more litter bins;
more toilet paper and hand soap;
fans and heating appliances;
wastebaskets for recycling;
Twelfth, Promotion of health through the organization of activities during the festivities, such as educational children's theater, popular games, popular march, traditional healthy meals, workshops for stress management and against sedentary lifestyle and the consumption of alcohol and tobacco.
Finally, the Directors chose by a majority the Sport as a topic to be discussed in the Educational Centers in the second quarter of this year.
