The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, under the 'Plan against abductions in agricultural and livestock farms', has carried out an investigation that has resulted in the investigation of two people, who have been instructed As alleged perpetrators of misappropriation, for diverting the harvest of a farm of Torre Pacheco with 8,200 kilograms of lemon and containers for transport, valued at more than 5,000 euros.

The investigation began when the owner of a farm denounced to the Benemérita the diversion of its citrus harvest.

The farmer had agreed to collect the lemons from his Torre Pacheco estate and transfer it to a warehouse in Murcia, but although the agricultural products were collected, they never reached their destination.

Agents of the ROCA team of the Benemérita, specialized in the fight against robberies in the field, took charge of the investigation.

The first investigations were carried out to verify the existence of possible criminal infractions and, if appropriate, to identify those responsible for the events.

The civil guards found that after the authorship of the alleged crimes was the person hired by the complainant for the tasks of cutting and packing of lemons on the farm and the person responsible for their subsequent transfer and storage of the palots.

After completion of the harvesting tasks on the farm, the person in charge of the staff allegedly appropriated the more than eight tons of lemon that were stored in the box / palots inside the premises of the person in charge of the transport, and together with the manager Of the transport and storage made its sale to distribute the obtained money, to the margin of the farmer and legitimate proprietor of the harvest.

It follows from the investigation that the reason for the deviation of the lemon harvest and its subsequent sale to a third party bypassing the farmer could be due to the fact that the latter had not immediately paid for the agreed services of collection and storage.

Following the identification of the alleged perpetrators and with the information gathered in the inquiries, the Civil Guard has located the suspects, who have been instructed as alleged perpetrators of misappropriation.

During the investigation the agents have located the place of sale of the appropriate lemons illicitly and have confirmed that the value given to them in the sale celebrated without consent of the legitimate owner has been much lower than the market.

In addition, all the boxes / pallets used to transport the 8,200 kg of lemons have been recovered, the containers having a value that would be around 2,000 euros.

The investigated, the recovered effects and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Murcia (Murcia).
