The new ambulance replaces the previous one once its useful life has expired after ten years of use, the latter has been transformed into a Mobile First Aid Unit (UMPA).
It is a model of the Mercedes brand, Sprinter model, which incorporates all the advances in the field of assistance and conforms to the latest European regulations for sanitary transport.
It is equipped for effective patient care and enabled to transport five emergency technicians plus the patient.
It also has all the equipment to attend urgent notices and advanced life support.
The ambulance, whose total purchase cost is 56,857.90 euros, has been paid in full by the City of Torre-Pacheco and supplied by Euro Gaza Emergencias, SL of Córdoba, which has been the winning company in the bidding process that ended last October.
Juan Salvador Sánchez, Councilor for Emergencies and Civil Protection, said during the presentation that "this acquisition demonstrates the clear commitment of the City of Torre-Pacheco and guarantees our commitment to improve material and human resources in Civil Protection and emergencies" and remarked about the volunteers that form the Association that "the neighbors of Torre Pacheco appreciate their dedication, effort and work in each of the services they provide, always in an altruistic way".
The Civil Protection service of Torre-Pacheco currently has 30 volunteers, annually performs more than 200 preventive and support services to Local Police in sports competitions, parties and cultural and religious events, as well as training on first aid and life support basic to students of ESO and Baccalaureate.
Currently, it also has a First Aid Mobile Unit (UMPA) and 2 Rapid Intervention Vehicles (VIR) as well as a motorcycle scooter.
