Today Municipal Day, dedicated to all "Pachequeros" (17/09/2019)

This year, on the occasion of the Municipality Day 2019, the City Council of Torre Pacheco has suspended all planned activities.

The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, and the members of the Government Team on the Local Government Board of today, "Municipal Day", have wanted to show their "immense gratitude to all who have assisted in this crisis: Civil Guard, Local Police, Firefighters, Emergency Health Services, Civil Protection Volunteers, AMPAs, cultural associations, sports clubs, party commissions, companies, farmers, volunteers arriving from outside the municipality and, in general, to all residents of Torre Pacheco who have demonstrated their generosity and collaboration with those who needed it most. "

They have also had a "specific mention of the essential and very important work that the media have developed, highlighting their impeccable work to keep the population informed in real time, transmitting the notices and updating of data necessary for the normal development of the crisis , as well as service 112, AEMET and the different administrations that have collaborated. "

A very deserved recognition to the men and women of the municipality of Torre Pacheco who "have shown these days the best of themselves and although it will be some time before we can recover normalcy in the life of our Region, we will surely recover it with effort and strength, "reiterated the Mayor.

On September 17, 1836, the Villa de Torre Pacheco was constituted in its own Town Hall by segregation of the Council of Murcia, definitively after first attempts in 1813 and 1820, forming a territory that was framed within the limits of the primitive parish, founded in the year 1603 by Dean Luis Pacheco and under the invocation of the Virgin of the Rosary, creating a municipal term with 48 houses in the town and 1200 distributed in an extensive field of 200 km2, formed by eleven districts and deputations and a first census of 5,000 inhabitants;

and it would take up to 30 years for the City Council of Torre Pacheco to have a building destined for Town Hall.
