The Integrated Center for Training and Agricultural Experiences (Cifea) of Torre Pacheco has been proclaimed, with 339 points, the winning team that will represent Spain in the 2019 Agrolympics International Championship, which will take place in Poland next June.
Students from 20 vocational training centers nationwide, the agrarian family and food industry, disputed different tests related to the sector last April at the Palace of fairs and exhibitions in the Region of Murcia (Ifepa) in Torre Pacheco. .
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Ángel del Amor, met today with the winners to congratulate them.
Del Amor stressed that "for several days the teams competed carrying out 20 tests related to the agricultural and food sector of the Region such as setting up an irrigation installation, performing grafts and estimating the weight of fruits and vegetables, among others".
Together with Torre Pacheco's CIFEA, "other centers in the Region have obtained excellent scores, such as the Cifea de Lorca which is in third place with 304 points, the first team of the Cifea de Molina de Segura that is in tenth place with 245 points and the Cifea de Jumilla is in twelfth place with 234 points, "said Del Amor.
