The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Raul Lledó and the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Veronica Martinez, received at the City Council the young athletes of the Torre Pacheco Swimming Club, Pedro José Carmona Yepes and José Garnés Castillo, accompanied by the President of the Murcian Swimming Federation, Ricardo Martínez Lorca and the coach of the Swimming Club of Torre Pacheco, Rubén Buendía Alcaraz.

Leon commented that the objective of these meetings is to make known to the neighbors, the achievements made by the most outstanding athletes of the municipality in the different modalities, as well as to know the projects in which they are working.

Highlighting the commitment and support of the Consistory to base sports and athletes in the municipality.

The president of the Swimming Federation of the Region of Murcia highlighted the history of the municipality in sports and highlighted the work, dedication and effort of the athletes.

In addition, he noted that the municipality is already silk for 10 years of the Regional Winter Championship and the Promesas Regional Championship.

Martínez, valued the trajectory of both athletes, despite their youth.

Pedro José Carmona, started in swimming in 2014, participating in the Spanish Championship in Malaga where he achieved a third place.

For his part, José Garnés began to practice this sport in 2013, achieving in his first year of competition the third place in the Region, going on to get the first place, the second and the third year of competition.

In addition, he has participated in the Championship of Spain and has qualified in the finals of 100 butterfly, with only 13 years, among other titles.

The councilor of Sports also wanted to join the congratulations of the young athletes, valuing the work and effort, likewise, stressed the importance of work and the support of the Club and the Federation.
