"Pride to be free" A rainbow ride through diversity in Torre Pacheco (28/06/2018)

The City Council of Torre Pacheco is committed to equality policies.

The Department of Equality has prepared a program of social and cultural nature, with recreational, social, cultural and above all vindicating, in favor of the rights of the LGTBI collective.

This morning the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Veronica Martinez has presented the campaign on the occasion of the LGTBI Pride Day, known as "Gay Pride Day".

For the third consecutive year, the Torre Pacheco City Council joins the celebration of this day with proposals for all audiences and with the aim of making visible the sexual diversity, raising the voice in favor of the rights of the LGTBI people.

Today June 28, "International LGTBI Pride Day" on the facade of the City Hall waves a flag with the colors of the Rainbow, colors that are also found in the zebra crossings of the center.

In this year's program, highlights the "Rainbow Walk for Diversity", "three steps of zebra have been painted with the colors of the Rainbow, from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to the CAES passing through the Plaza Mayor Pedro Jiménez, a walk through colors that mean, fight, equality, tolerance and diversity, in short, symbol of struggle for tolerance and equality of the LGTBI collective ", as commented Veronica Martinez.

Among the programmed activities, it is worth highlighting the dissemination of a video for the respect of sexual and emotional freedom, a musical show, and a bibliographic and audiovisual exposition with LGTBI theme, in the Municipal Public Library of Torre Pacheco, from June 28 to July 7th.

In addition, for the Plenary today, June 28, a motion will be presented on the occasion of the commemoration of this day "Pride to be free."

Finishing the campaign of activities with "Roldán con Orgullo", where we will celebrate diversity in a colorful environment, with music, DJ's, photocall, performances and with the joy that characterizes this event, on Friday, July 13 at Plaza de the Church of Roldan.

The Councilor has closed her speech, recalling that all activities are open and free and emphasizing the fact that "it is a campaign very focused on the visibility and awareness of the struggle for Equality and Diversity", inviting all and all neighbors to participate in the programmed activities "because this will be a sign that we all fight for full gender equality".
